Two Flutes

In year 2000, before I left home, there was a short heated debate on internet.

In Peking University, there were cats in classroom during winter. One night, a so-called 'gifted' student from School of Medicine rose indifferently after study in the classroom. He didn't say a word, went straight to a cat, threw it violently against the wall, and the miserable animal immediately died.

This caused debate on internet, a debate on professional ethics of medical study, as mercilessness shown in front of people. There's also debate on such mercilessness, such as necessity of animal test.

Now some people are still  promoting animal rights, such as the short keen from Oprah Winfrey on right of pigs . What are these for? Think over...

In 2002, a best student of me lost mother. She died of ashma , on 40th birthday. They lived just behind a big well-facilitated hospital, on feet only 5- 10 minutes to emergency window. That night, they called ambulance, as the father had some pain in spine. The ambulance reached 45 minutes later. The kid lost her mother.

They moved from the old home. As they lived close to the hospital, there's often sound from animals . They're for animal test. It's a bad experience to hear their voice. They moved away from the house.

In the year 2002, a huge fire burnt from the Blue Mountain in Sydney, a few days later heavy smoke choked people in central city.  It was such a hot day on the first day of the bushfire, and it happened to be my day of audition exam- 1pm, the hottest time on a hottest day. I brought me a bottle of 2 liter water. In fact, nowadays I felt it so strangely thirsty when I was on the stage, that I finished the whole bottle before the audition ended. My throat dried up so quickly , that once choked me during performance. And I even blowed a hiccup during a slow movement, it scared me off !! The last movement I felt totally exhausted. No it's not normal exhaustion, but I felt as though my muscles were uncontrollably weak, that I had mistakes which I never ever had in any classes or rehearsals. It's Mona on the stage.

On the first day of bush fire, Sydney Cityrail had a big chaos, people waited for hours and hours on platform. One of my friend saw a ghost in the tunnel of Townhall during traffic jam, when he looked through the reflection of window in the dark tunnel, he saw a man was reading newspaper. But he wasn't on the train.

Another housemate reported about a second ghost in our house in NSW. She was an aged woman , was on the roof, just watching. We were the only two shared this secret , to avoid chaos to others. Then we started to share the same dream ,in which our teeth were so loose that they almost fell out. We both had it for 4-5 repeated times , struggled to maintain our teeth everytime.

A year or two ago, there're several news about hundreds cats being sold to the south. Many of them seemed to be domestic cats, they were to be sold as dishes in the south. Is there many people eating cat meat on table in the south? Think over...

My father is a university professor. The high achievers of its graduates were former president of the country, and current Minister of Health used to work in its affiliated hospital. They belong to different political parties.

The name of the minister is Chen Zhu. He is a cell expert and studied in France. His name has a meaning:

"The old two flutes".

Mona and Madame was having heated debate. For one moment, Mona came and stated all her opinion and concern. Mona was easy-going, humble and kind to everyone.  But she always felt the life beyond her control and would often result in panic fear. And at this time Madame came out to analyse the situation , find out the real cause behind panic honestly, then work out solution and resolutions, then how to act. Madame was more indifferent about the relationships in lives, and hard to be influenced over own decisions . They led to different direction in life. Madame was more disciplined, but after while, she would be very bored by tasteless life from discipline. Then this time Mona would come for the rescue, a breath.

The time Mona had phone phobia, it's from a girl named Sarah, she had great manner. But Mona cut  it off straight. Paul came to Dowling St, he heard revolutionary music named "kid" by him, and witnessed a robbery by a junk holding needle. He runs profitable advertising company,  but he never appeared.

Mona was very sensitive, quickest to sense, that's why there's lots unknown feeling that could grasp her in a second. Yet to tell what exactly it was, is the honesty and bravery of Madame. Then Mona would be appeased.  Mona was blamed by her unforgiving, as Sarah turned into another girl, named Sacha. But Mona said " This is what she really wants,  whatever Sarah or Sacha, -  my loss will make happiness". And Madame agreed. Mona then was into swings from loneliness , self-questioning.

But Madame stopped it, she worked out on paper, a way to lose less from loss, compare to a way to gain less from gain, and saw the outside disturbance in decision that  doomed her destiny .  Then Madame was determined to walk out toward future and sunshine alone.

And I decided I will not go back to Mona, as she suffered too much, and Madame has given a solution and direction without panic. This is the extra mile Madame can do than Mona. Though Mona had changed, at the moment no one could hear cry and came to help. This was the inspiration of Madame. She would always find a way to walk out.

They both dreamed Grace, the friend they had for 10 years and hated by Mona and forgot by Madame. In their dream, Grace was beside as usual. When Mona asked if that meant she needed to forgive her, they saw Grace holding guns, shooting people in a corner of the park, in a second dream.

Madame always rethink and judge the panic of Mona, she admit facts. With Mona, Madame looked at some speech from authorities like a muted TV. There's no word and no decisions get into her ear and brain without heart's permit.

Mona and Madame were both in me, they came in turn for the rescue of each other over past years.

1 The word of the LORD came to Jonah son of Amittai: 2 “Go to the great city of Nineveh and preach against it, because its wickedness has come up before me.”
3 But Jonah ran away from the LORD and headed for Tarshish. He went down to Joppa, where he found a ship bound for that port. After paying the fare, he went aboard and sailed for Tarshish to flee from the LORD.
4 Then the LORD sent a great wind on the sea, and such a violent storm arose that the ship threatened to break up. 5 All the sailors were afraid and each cried out to his own god. And they threw the cargo into the sea to lighten the ship.
But Jonah had gone below deck, where he lay down and fell into a deep sleep. 6 The captain went to him and said, “How can you sleep? Get up and call on your god! Maybe he will take notice of us so that we will not perish.”
7 Then the sailors said to each other, “Come, let us cast lots to find out who is responsible for this calamity.” They cast lots and the lot fell on Jonah. 8 So they asked him, “Tell us, who is responsible for making all this trouble for us? What kind of work do you do? Where do you come from? What is your country? From what people are you?”
9 He answered, “I am a Hebrew and I worship the LORD, the God of heaven, who made the sea and the dry land.”
10 This terrified them and they asked, “What have you done?” (They knew he was running away from the LORD, because he had already told them so.)
11 The sea was getting rougher and rougher. So they asked him, “What should we do to you to make the sea calm down for us?”
12 “Pick me up and throw me into the sea,” he replied, “and it will become calm. I know that it is my fault that this great storm has come upon you.”
13 Instead, the men did their best to row back to land. But they could not, for the sea grew even wilder than before. 14 Then they cried out to the LORD, “Please, LORD, do not let us die for taking this man’s life. Do not hold us accountable for killing an innocent man, for you, LORD, have done as you pleased.” 15 Then they took Jonah and threw him overboard, and the raging sea grew calm. 16 At this the men greatly feared the LORD, and they offered a sacrifice to the LORD and made vows to him.
