Amazing Grace

Elvis and Priscilla met on September 13, 1959, during a party at Elvis' home in Bad Nauheim, Germany during his stay in the army. After Elvis' return to America, the couple stayed in contact over the phone,till summer 1962. It was during this visit, whilst on a trip to Las Vegas, that Priscilla first took amphetamines and sleeping pills to keep up with Elvis' lifestyle. Priscilla attended all-girls' Catholic school, the Immaculate Conception High School, and live with Elvis' father and his stepmother in a separate house on the Graceland .

Priscilla Ann Wagner's biological father was US Navy pilot James Wagner.   On 10 August 1944, at the age of 23, he married Priscilla's mother after dating for more than three years, but  was killed in a plane crash while returning home on leave when Priscilla was six months old. When Priscilla discovered this "..family secret...", she was encouraged by her mother to keep it from the other children as she feared it would "...endanger our family closeness...". In 1948 her mother met a United States Air Force officer named Paul Beaulieu, from Quebec Her father's Air Force career moved them from Connecticut to New Mexico to Maine. And she was a little girl  accustomed to moving from base to base every two or three years.In 1956 her father was transferred to Wiesbaden, Germany. After stayed at the Helene Hotel ,they settled in a large apartment later  realized as a brothel, but they remained there.Priscilla frequented the Eagles Club where American families would gather , where  Currie Grant, a young American Air Force recruit introduced Priscilla to Elvis Presley.

Before Christmas 1966, Elvis proposed to Priscilla,as the result of a phone call from Priscilla's father to remind Elvis.Elvis was reluctant to marry for a number of reasons, primarily the fear that his career could be harmed by marriage. Goldman also claims that Elvis would often state that he "wasn't made to be married.

In 1968, Priscilla  began taking private dance lessons. She found herself deeply attracted to the instructor, and she confesses to having a short affair. She implies regret, however, saying "I came out of it realizing I needed much more out of my relationship with Elvis." Priscilla began taking lessons from Mike Stone, a karate instructor she had met in 1972 backstage at one of Elvis' concerts. She soon began an affair with him,[26It was following this experience, according to her autobiography, that she decided to leave Elvis.

In 1971, an affair he had with Joyce Bova resulted—unbeknownst to him—in her pregnancy and an abortion. He often raised the possibility of her moving in to Graceland, saying that he was likely to leave Priscilla.

1973,  at a midnight show Jan , four men rushed onto the stage in an apparent attack. Security men leapt to Presley's defense, and the singer's karate instinct took over as he ejected one invader from the stage himself. Following the show, he became obsessed with the idea that the men had been sent by Stone to kill him. He raged, "There's too much pain in me ... Stone die." His outbursts continued with such intensity that a physician was unable to calm him, despite administering large doses of medication.

Elvis filed for divorce on August 18 and it was finalized on October 9, Priscilla was awarded an outright cash payment of $725,000 as well as spousal support, child support, 5% of Elvis' new publishing companies, and half the income from the sale of their Beverly Hills home.

Elvis was now becoming increasingly unwell. Twice during the year he overdosed on barbiturates, spending three days in a coma in his hotel suite after the first incident. Toward the end of 1973, he was hospitalized, semicomatose from the effects of Demerol addiction. According to his main physician, Dr. George C. Nichopoulos, Presley "felt that by getting [drugs] from a doctor, he wasn't the common everyday junkie getting something off the street.

Presley's condition declined precipitously in September. Keyboardist Tony Brown remembers the singer's arrival at a University of Maryland concert: "He fell out of the limousine, to his knees. People jumped to help, and he pushed them away like, 'Don't help me.' He walked on stage and held onto the mike for the first thirty minutes like it was a post.Guitarist John Wilkinson recalled, "He was all gut. He was slurring. He was so fucked up. ... It was obvious he was drugged. It was obvious there was something terribly wrong with his body. It was so bad the words to the songs were barely intelligible. ... I remember crying. He could barely get through the introductions".

in 1975,  "Moody Blue" topped the country chart  and reached the second spot on the AC in 1976.Perhaps his most critically acclaimed recording of the era came that year, with what Greil Marcus described as his "apocalyptic attack" on the soul classic "Hurt". "If he felt the way he sounded", Dave Marsh wrote of Presley's performance, "the wonder isn't that he had only a year left to live but that he managed to survive that long."

On July 13, 1976, Vernon Presley—who had become deeply involved in his son's financial affairs—fired "Memphis Mafia" bodyguards Red West (Presley's friend since the 1950s) Presley was in Palm Springs at the time.Presley's stepbrother David Stanley has claimed that the bodyguards were fired because they were becoming more outspoken about Presley's drug dependency.

By early 1977, "Elvis Presley had become a grotesque caricature of his sleek, energetic former self. Hugely overweight, his mind dulled by the pharmacopoeia he daily ingested, he was barely able to pull himself through his abbreviated concerts." In Rapid City, South Dakota, "he was so nervous on stage that he could hardly talk", according to Presley historian Samuel Roy, and unable to "perform any significant movement."

Guralnick relates that fans "were becoming increasingly voluble about their disappointment, but it all seemed to go right past Elvis, whose world was now confined almost entirely to his room and his spiritualism booksBut more often gripped by paranoid obsessions that reminded Howard Hughes. He  suffered from multiple ailments—glaucoma, high blood pressure, liver damage, and an enlarged colon, each aggravated, and possibly caused, by drug abuse.

Presley was scheduled to fly out of Memphis on the evening of August 16, 1977, to begin another tour. That afternoon, Alden discovered him unresponsive on his bathroom floor. Attempts to revive him failed, and death was officially pronounced at 3:30 pm at Baptist Memorial Hospital.Presley's funeral was held at Graceland, on Thursday, August 18. Outside the gates, a car plowed into a group of fans, killing two women and critically injuring a third.

Following her marriage to Elvis, Priscilla had a number of relationships. In 1984 she met Italian screenwriter Marco Garibaldi and they had a son, Navarone, who was born in 1987.  In 2006 the couple ended their relationship. Between 2007 and 2009 she was in a relationship with Nigel Lythgoe.

After Elvis' death in 1977, Vernon Presley served by will as executor and trustee of his estate.Other beneficiaries were grandmother Minnie Mae Presley, and daughter Lisa Marie Presley . Before his death in 1979 Vernon chose Priscilla to serve as the estate executor for Elvis' only child, Lisa Marie and named as one of three trustees by his will along with the National Bank of Commerce in Memphis, which was the bank Elvis and Vernon had done business with Joseph Hanks, the accountant.  Minnie Mae passed in 1980. Only Lisa Marie remained since then .

Priscilla examined other famous houses/museums, and hired a CEO, Jack Soden to turn Graceland into a moneymaker. Graceland was opened to the public on June 7, 1982. Four weeks after the estate made back all the money it had invested. Priscilla became the chairwoman and president of Elvis Presley Enterprises, or EPE, stating she would do so until Lisa Marie reached 21 . The enterprise's fortunes soared and eventually the trust grew to be worth over $100 million. It is the second most-visited home in the United States, after the White House.

Paul Edmond Dowling ,a zealous Presley fan, worked with William Samuel Theaker to produce records of unreleased Presley recordings such as those from concerts and television shows.The federal government brought its initial case against Dowling in the United States District Court for the Central District of California, arguing his guilt on the basis that he had no legal authority to distribute the records. Dowling was convicted of one count of conspiracy to transport stolen property in interstate commerce, eight counts of interstate transportation of stolen property, nine counts of copyright infringement, and three counts of mail fraud. The charges of mail fraud arose out of his use of the United States Postal Service to distribute the records.

Their only daughter, Lisa Marie Presley, known as the "Princess of Rock and Roll", also became a singer-songwriter. Twenty days after her divorce from musician Keough, with whom she lived for six years with tow children, Lisa married singer Michael Jackson . May 6, 1994, after a quick divorce in Dominican Republic, Keough lives in the guest house on the same property as her home, and even written songs together.

Since 1992, Lisa and Jackson stayed in contact every day over the telephone. As child molestation accusations became public, Jackson became dependent on Lisa for emotional support; during the time, she was "concerned " about his health and addiction to drugs. She persuaded Jackson to settle the allegations out of court and go into rehabilitation .

Dr. Evan Chandler , a dentist demanded payment over the 13-year-old Jordan sexual abuse was rejected intially. December 20, Jackson's home was raided by the police.Jordan Chandler had reportedly given police a description of Jackson's intimate parts,however the strip search revealed, to the contrary, that Jackson was actually uncircumcised. 17 Nov 2009 , the father was found dead of suicide.

Only one and half year later,  in January 1996, citing irreconcilable differences, Lisa Marie filed for divorce from Jackson and ended with an amicable divorce settlement. In a 2010 interview with Oprah, she admitted that they spent four more years after the divorce "getting back together and breaking up".

She had two additional relationships between Michael Jackson and Nicolas Cage with one being an engagement, married With Cage on August 10, 2002, and a fourth time on January 22, 2006, to Michael Lockwood, her  guitarist, music producer, and director. The family has moved to Britain . As reported in 2010 , they bought an £8 million stately home near Tunbridge Wells, Kent . Lisa has given birth to twin daughters.

In June , 2009, over the death of Michael Jackson,  Lisa stated that she was "gutted", and that she felt she had "failed" to help save him from "the inevitable".

Through all these circle of life, I wondered why Presley had the song " Amazing Grace" , as I was unable to see in Graceland. There're no women that seemed to be faithful , neither Elvis Presley serious about any proposals. Yet, Graceland, despite the name, had become a symbol of triumph in wealth and power.

"Amazing Grace" is a Christian hymn written by English poet and clergyman John Newton (1725–1807), published in 1779, with a message that forgiveness and redemption are possible regardless of the sins people commit and that the soul can be delivered from despair through the mercy of God.
Newton wrote the words from personal experience. He grew up without any particular religious conviction but his life's path was formed by a variety of twists and coincidences that were often put into motion by his recalcitrant insubordination. He was pressed into the Royal Navy and became a sailor, eventually participating in the slave trade. One night a terrible storm battered his vessel so severely that he became frightened enough to call out to God for mercy, a moment that marked the beginning of his spiritual conversion. His career in slave trading lasted a few years more until he quit going to sea altogether and began studying theology.

17 Now the LORD provided a huge fish to swallow Jonah, and Jonah was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights.
1 [a]From inside the fish Jonah prayed to the LORD his God. 2 He said:
   “In my distress I called to the LORD,
   and he answered me.
From deep in the realm of the dead I called for help,
   and you listened to my cry.
3 You hurled me into the depths,
   into the very heart of the seas,
   and the currents swirled about me;
all your waves and breakers
   swept over me.
4 I said, ‘I have been banished
   from your sight;
yet I will look again
   toward your holy temple.’
5 The engulfing waters threatened me,[b]
   the deep surrounded me;
   seaweed was wrapped around my head.
6 To the roots of the mountains I sank down;
   the earth beneath barred me in forever.
But you, LORD my God,
   brought my life up from the pit.
 7 “When my life was ebbing away,
   I remembered you, LORD,
and my prayer rose to you,
   to your holy temple.
 8 “Those who cling to worthless idols
   turn away from God’s love for them.
9 But I, with shouts of grateful praise,
   will sacrifice to you.
What I have vowed I will make good.
   I will say, ‘Salvation comes from the LORD.’”
 10 And the LORD commanded the fish, and it vomited Jonah onto dry land.
